I am now officially a grad student!

While I spent many hours this spring preparing my application and telling myself I’d get in for sure, nothing was certain until this past Friday, when I got an email saying I’d been accepted to Royal Roads University.  Now the transition from underemployed job seeker to grad student (still looking for work) is in full swing.

I sent in my deposit and Notice of Acceptance, which was due yesterday – classes begin July 9th.  I was at the campus this morning, getting answers to my questions about financial aid, checking out the library, and – to be honest – pinching myself.  My studies will be mainly online, though I have some time on campus in the beginning, when the cohort that I’ll belong to gets together and spends some time studying, getting to know each other and “bonding”.

The next couple of years will be pretty intense… this is going to take some understanding from family and friends as I juggle course work, research and real life.  I’ll let you all know how it goes.
