So true! No sooner did I publish this post than I thought "Hey! Hashtags!" And yes, it's vitally important that you put in a well rounded bio (ok, as good as you can do in 160 characters), your hometown, a website where people can find out more about you... it can be your Facebook profile if you don't have your own website, and a picture that gives people an idea what you are about. Having said all that, I'm going to go look you up on Twitter, @peanutgnome. Thanks for stopping by!

Another thing that that really helps is learning about hashtags (which are like keywords on a website), and using Twitter search. For example, one of my interests is Halloween (yes, all year!) so in the search box I enter #halloween and click the hourglass. You will see the people that have included #halloween in their post. Click on some of these users and examine their profile. Are their tweets something that interest you? Are they from your home town? Is their bio or website of interest to you? Follow them. If things don't work out, feel free to unfollow anyone you desire.
Because of this, you can see why it is important to fill out your own bio and website - how will people know to follow you?
Happy Tweeting!
